Rally to Chloride September 19th

Rally to Chloride and Truth or Consequences Saturday September 19th.
We will visit Chloride – nestled in the foothills of the Black Range Forest and if time – an optional group dinner and/or other activities in TorC.

We will meet at the Albuquerque Uptown chargers early at 8 AM (2200 Louisiana Boulevard NE, Albuquerque). We will need to charge in Socoro and in TorC before the trip through Winston to Chloride.
Bring a Picnic lunch or grab something in TorC to take to Chloride for lunch. We will do a picnic and tour several old buildings full of artifacts, history and records and just fun stuff to look at.
After Chloride we will return to TorC to charge – arriving between 4 and 5 PM. The trip home will be about 3 hours including a charge in Socorro.
Optional: If you want to spend more time in TorC for mineral baths or visit the Geronimo museum or visit empty Elephant Butte lake you will probably want to stay overnight. If you plan to stay overnight, please arrange your own lodging. Dennis and Vicki will be staying overnight. Here are some lodging options. https://www.visit-torc.com/lodging
Here is an estimate of timing. Leave Albuquerque 8:15AM; Leave Socorro after charging 10AM; Arrive TorC 11AM; Leave TorC after charging/food purchase11:45; arrive Chloride 1PM for picnic and tour (1PM to 3:00 PM); Return to TorC – arriving around 4:00 PM.
For those who stay. This is just a possible schedule. We will decide in TorC.
4:00 to 7:00 check into your overnight facility and/or do a bath – drive to the dam.
7:00 to 8:30 Dinner: I will make reservations at La Cocina Hot Stuff unless I hear differently.
8:30 + Late night soaks or what ever. (Dennis and Vicki have reservations at 9PM)
These are the only other restaurants open after 5PM.

I just updated the event to include TorC dinner and a possible schedule. If you plan to stay in TorC let me know if this works for you or not.
Monica and I will stay overnight at the Holiday Inn Express and probably book a private pool at Riverbend late afternoon before dinner since we we turn in pretty early. We should coordinate dinner.
Vicki and I booked a $50 Private pool at Riverbend for 9PM Saturday. We will probably do a bath at Charles on Sunday Morning after breakfast. The Charles do not take reservations. Was $6 a few years ago. probably more now but not fancy like Riverbend. Just a mineral soak.
Angel and I are looking forward to this. We will have the latest version of FSD active. Plan to stay the night in TRC.
Vicki and I are also staying the night. We can figure out if we want to have a group dinner later – and where.
FYI we will stay at the Holliday Inn Express where the Fast Chargers are located.
Wanted the Pelican but it was booked.
Monica and I are also going to stay overnight. Are there other places to stay with hot springs available? I heard River Bend is nice but expensive and they don’t have natural pools. Is that correct?
I just checked Riverbend for rooms and they have a two night minimum that rules us out. They do have a Property Pass for one hour at a time for the public pools. I suggest this for interested members perhaps Saturday evening or Sunday morning. The pools overlook the Rio Grande River.
