WE WILL RESCHEDULE AT A LATER DATE. \n\n\n\nTesla Owners Club of New Mexico is proudly sponsoring a Tesla Road Rally to Chaco Canyon\, New Mexico. We will start early at 8:00 AM at the Journal Center Tesla Supercharger in Albuquerque. We will drive out I40 West to Milan NM outside of Grants NM where we will charge up at the new SuperCharger there and have a breakfast/brunch at the Brunch Kiva Cafe. We will then drive north to Chaco Culture National Historic Park taking about two and a half hours to get there by 1:00 PM where we will tour the ruins of Tetro Ketl\, Kin Klesto and finally Pueblo Bonito.  \n\n\n\nNote the roads into Chaco are rough dirt roads and there are no facilities at Chaco itself so bring appropriate provisions and clothing.  \n\n\n\nShould be a fun time. Should be back by about 7:00 or 8:00 PM for a full day.

We will then drive north to Chaco Culture National Historic Park taking about two and a half hours to get there by 1:00 PM where we will tour the ruins of Tetro Ketl\, Kin Klesto and finally Pueblo Bonito.   \n\n\n\nThe roads are paved except for 23 miles of gravel road -perhaps with some  washboards. There are no services except for the Visitors Center that has restrooms. Bring water\, snacks\, sun protection\, additional clothing in case it is cold or hot\, sturdy walking shoes. \n\n\n\nNOTE:  The RSVP button is working. \n\n\n\nSome Details: It is 86 miles from Albuquerque to Milan on I40. After charging and eats\, we will proceed North on Highway 605 14 miles to Highway 509 and then north past the Peabody coal mines on to White Horse. Then west to Seven Lakes\, then north on a dirt road 23 miles to Chaco. An alternate route for a different view would be to take I 40 26 miles to Thoreau where we will take Paved road 371 north for 28 miles to the junction of E Rte 9. From there on a paved road we will travel 14 miles East to Seven Lakes then north on an dirt road 23 miles to Pueblo Bonito. Only 9 miles more. \n\n\n\nWe can discuss at brunch in Milan. DESCRIPTION:Rally to Chloride and Truth or Consequences Saturday September 19th. \n\n\n\nWe will visit Chloride – nestled in the foothills of the Black Range Forest and if time – an optional group dinner and/or other activities in TorC. \n\n\n\nhttp://www.pioneerstoremuseum.com/General_Information.html \n\n\n\nWe will meet at the Albuquerque Uptown chargers early at 8 AM (2200 Louisiana Boulevard NE\, Albuquerque).  We will need to charge in Socoro and in TorC before the trip through  Winston to Chloride. \n\n\n\nBring a Picnic lunch or grab something in TorC to take to Chloride for lunch.  We will do a picnic and tour several old buildings full of artifacts\, history and records and just fun stuff to look at. \n\n\n\nAfter Chloride we will return to TorC to charge – arriving between 4 and 5 PM. The trip home will be about 3 hours including a charge in Socorro.    \n\n\n\nOptional:  If you want to spend more time in TorC for mineral baths or visit the Geronimo museum or visit empty Elephant Butte lake you will probably want to stay overnight.  If you plan to stay overnight\, please arrange your own lodging. Dennis and Vicki will be staying overnight. This is just a possible schedule. DESCRIPTION:Next month dozens of Albuquerque electric vehicle drivers and enthusiasts will host an event to allow community members to get their questions answered about what driving and owning an electric vehicle is really like at 2026 3rd Annual Albuquerque EV Expo.  \n\n\n\nShow your Tesla and sign up to volunteer here. \n\n\n\nWe will be focusing on how your electric vehicle can provide you with additional benefits such as cooking on induction stovetops\, keeping beverages cold with refrigerators for camping and outdoor activities\, power tools for working in remote locations and power backup for critical home appliances in power outages. We have a micro grant to help our with showing these benefits primarily with offsetting the costs of display and educational materials. Let us know by email at info@tocnm.org or in the comments below. \n\n\n\nThe event is part of the 14th annual National Drive Electric Month (NDEM). \n\n\n\nNational Drive Electric Month\, a coast-to-coast celebration of electric vehicles (EVs)\, will be held Sept. 11 through Oct. 12\, 2026\, and is expected to include more than 200 online and in-person events. \n\n\n\nThere are now more than three million EVs on the road in the United States\, and a recent survey from Cox Automotive found consumers considering purchasing an EV for their next vehicle is at an all-time high. The increased interest in EVs makes NDEM events important to educating the public about the incredible benefits of owning an EV\, from cost-savings on maintenance and fuel to improved air quality\, convenience and performance.
